Disk Drill Media Recovery App Reviews

After browsing a few different Data Recover options to recover some unintentionally deleted photo sessions off my camera’s SD card, I came across this one. Lets give it a try. After weighing the options of $40 vs taking all those photos again it didnt sound so bad. I downloaded it. Opened the application and none of my drives were visible. “I just got screwed!” I thought to myself but then after quenching my initial anger I read the disclamer at the bottom that an OS 10 update file needed to be download separately due to Apples blah blah blah about hard drives. Downloaded that and restarted the app. BOOM! Minions search for my files!……. All is well in the land. I have my files, a clean pair of shorts and not having to come up with an explanation as to way I need to reshoot my session. All in all a good product. Thank you.

The main reason I bought this product was to recover lost videos from an SD card. It looked like it found the videos and recovered them but all the vidoes were corrupt. Incidently, their free Disk Drill Basic software seem to recover videos very well. The basic verison only limits you to 2GB of content but the videos were not corrupt and played fine. Upgrading to the Pro version removes the limit but it cost $90.

This is a scam! DO NOT BUY DISK DRILL..you are throwing away your money!!! None of my disks shows under recovery panel… and you get the following msg: " Important: you might not find any of your disks visible in Disk Drill Media Recovery if you are running OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion); thats due to the internal change introduced in a new OS which prevents applications on the App Store from accessing your disks. Please dont leave a negative comment on the App Store, email us, well explain"

This version is a scam it dose nothing.

I can’t open the App :-(

This app gives the impression that it recovers files from disks but it only recovers files from within a disk image. It says it in the description but to the novice user it is not really apparent until you use it and find that it is a single purpose app that won’t help the average user who has deleted files to get them back. Who needs to recover files from a disk image anyway? How many people actualy keep disk images of their data? Apple, isn’t your de facto standard in the app store for an app to be useful and/or entertaining? This is misleading, not useful, and I am not entertained!!!!!!!!!!!!

After reading many reviews on different similar apps and this one seemed to have more positive reviews than negative ones.This application really does what it said.It is the most convenient data recovery application for my Macbook.A Massive thanks for the devlopers.

I’ve heard of this app for so long and finally I bought it. I know it is powerful to recover deleted files, I have never know it is soo good. But there is limitations and suggestions. Don’t make your disks so full, which makes your disks written before you can recover it. Recommended, hope it will help you.

while editing images, i hit delete thinking i was in photoshop…. no…. i had my original file selected… quick search and download and with this utility i was able to recover the original from my camera memory card.

Just downloaded this app… Its not working… How can i get my money back? thank you

$39 and it is broken—won’t show any disks etc to scan. DO NOT BUY until they fix it. There was another review saying the same thing, I should have listened!

Like 2 other complaints, does not work. It won’t find or allow you to select your hard drive. So now I have two problems, lost data and now I am out the money I spent on this junk.

This software will allow you to scan your deleted files, but when you go to recover them, every last file will say it is damaged or unable to open. I spent my money, and got screwed. I then tried Stellar recovery, it scanned the same files, and I was actually able to open all files, the ones that DISK DRILL software said were damaged and not able to open. For $40, you would think that this company would have been revealed by now as a total scam. Kim Jackson from customer support told me that, to bad, we do not take responsiblity for our product. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THE SCAMMING OF FUTURE CUSTOMERS

Just what I needed disk tool !

Saved 5 GB of files that were gone. The scan process is pretty quick and it recovered my lost documents which is awesome. 0.99$ for data recovery is not expensive at all, however i wish this app to be free for all users ;-)
